I sat behind Cheryl for a year in Mr. Motts math class @South Davis Jr. She was very leinient when she checked my math problems.  One specific incident I remember was during the Cuban missile crisis she suddenly turned around and looked directly @ me and said "The Russians are going to drop a bomb on us and we're all going to die".  I stared at her like a deer in the headlights not knowing  how to respond ...she quickly turned around in embarrasment.  That evening I asked my parents if what Cheryl said was true and they indicated that the situation was very intense and suggested that prayers by said for resolution and peace.  As I drifted off to sleep that night I began thinking that what Cheryl did took alot of courage ...so then and there I decided that since I had never kissed a girl Cheryl would be the first if the bomb actually fell....such are the imaginations of a 13 year old boy.

I have had Bob Pates book MAPPING THE BOOK OF MORMON on my library shelf for over 20 years.  I knew Bob as one I passed in the halls of Bountiful High only in brief.  I trust by now he has found the answers to many of the problamatic issues of Book of Mormon geography.  As he stated in his "Preface"  "My conclusions are not fully attested, and are subject to revision."  I would love to see a copy of his revised edition. SAW
